Preserving a Fort Ann landmark

Restore Our Church

Fort Ann United Protestant Church is raising funds toward the restoration and preservation of our historic church building — so it can serve this community for generations to come.

Our story

A building worth saving

For well over a century, this church has stood at the heart of Fort Ann. Its pews have held generations of the same families. Its bell has marked weddings, funerals, holidays and ordinary Sundays.

Time, weather and honest wear have caught up with the building. Rather than let it slip away, our small congregation committed to restoring it — carefully, faithfully and with the help of our neighbors.

Restoration is funded almost entirely by community generosity: dinner fundraisers, the Second Blessings Thrift Shop, and gifts from people who love this place.

Fundraising progress

Every dollar goes into the building

Our restoration fund is built dinner by dinner and gift by gift.

Our official restoration goal and current total raised will be published here as soon as the church finalizes them. Until then, a tasteful progress bar is ready to go — send the numbers to FAUnitedprotestantchurch@gmail.com and we'll display them.

Current projects

What we're working on now

Restoration happens in stages, prioritized by what protects the building most.

Steeple & roof

Weather has taken its toll on the steeple and roofline. Repairs here protect everything beneath them.

Exterior painting & clapboard

Scraping, repairing and repainting the historic clapboard siding keeps the building watertight.

Windows & masonry

Restoring original windows and repointing the foundation preserve the character of the sanctuary.

Accessibility & interior

Safer entry, updated wiring and interior repairs so the whole community can gather comfortably.

Ways to help

Not everyone can write a check — and that's fine. There's a place for every kind of help.

Give a gift

One-time or monthly gifts of any size go directly toward restoration work.

Come to a fundraiser

Buy a ziti dinner ticket, bring a friend, and eat well for a good cause.

Shop or donate at Second Blessings

Every Saturday morning, the thrift shop turns donated goods into restoration funds.

Volunteer your hands

Painters, carpenters, cooks, ticket sellers and cleanup crews are all needed.

Donate materials

Lumber, paint, hardware or professional services can offset major costs.

Spread the word

Share our events with Fort Ann neighbors, family and local businesses.
